In the autumn of 2009 the Economic and Trade Office of the Spanish Embassy in Sweden approached me regarding a redesign of their website on Spanish wine.

The main problem with the old site was that it didn’t compliment the wealth of great content available. Moreover, the design felt outdated and cluttered, and didn’t give the impression of an organisation aware of the rapid pace of the wine industry and the internet.

I built the design around two main (and quite obvious) sources of inspiration: Spain and wine. The colours of Spain’s national flag run throughout the website, and the classy, mysterious and seducing nature of wine give a professional and soothing feel to the design.

As part of a three month tour of Asia in early 2010, I completed a redesign for BrainFit Studio, a children’s brain fitness centre in Singapore.

BrainFit Studio were determined to give their website a new look, that would represent their cutting edge technologies together with their personal and caring service. They use several state of the start neuro-scientific programs and principles, and were adamant to inform potential clients about their operations in an easy to understand manner.

By means of large background images, a soothing yet professional colour scheme and informative videos, I ensured that BrainFit Studio now have a website which goes hand-in-hand with their values and beliefs.

Great Andoh is a place of joy, hope and happiness, so it was an obvious decision to make the feel of the website a happy one. Co-founder Mikaela Odlander is a very gifted photographer and her shots give the site a great sense of authenticity.

The colors of Ghana’s national flag are used in the background and the vibrant nature of the colour scheme adds to the feeling of hope and promise, which define the whole organisation.

Sjömackarna’s previous website design was outdated, so naturally a drastic overhaul was needed. I incorporated marine elements to the sleek design to give a welcoming and professional impression. Central to Sjömackarna’s online presence is their database of Sweden’s boating gas stations. To appropriately present this vast collection, I implemented a system which integrates Google Maps with ExpressionEngine and gives Sjömackarna the ability to add gas stations to the map on demand.

Additionally, I designed and built systems for submitting distribution rapports and various other CRM solutions.

As one of Stockholm’s largest private music schools, Nordenfeltska Musikskolan were in need of a website with massive growth potential.

The main problem with Nordenfeltska’s previous website was that it required knowledge of HTML to update, which made it difficult for teachers to keep the site fresh and up to date. With the help of the excellent content management system WordPress and a complete design revamp, the school is now much better placed to offer fresh and quality content on demand to parents and pupils alike.

Seeing as it’s such a content heavy site, information architecture and a well defined strategy were pinnacle in the development of the site. Subtle elements such as musical notes in the background and teacher profiles give a warm and welcoming feel to the site, and offer a compliment to the large amounts of content.

Traditional yet modern and classy yet clean where just a few of the main keywords that Stureplan Invest wanted to run through their new website. With a fantastic shot of downtown Stockholm taken by talented photographer Fredrik Lundén as the main focal point, visitors get a great feeling of the city’s pulse, which defines the company’s work as well.

Short and effective descriptions of the company’s services fade in and out with the help of jQuery, giving first time visitors an understanding of the company’s services and main selling points at first glance.

Talented Canadian illustrator and designer Jared MacPherson came to me in the spring of 2009 with a finished design of his personal website.

My job was to take Jared’s immaculate design (which has seen a couple of redesigns already) and code it to standards-compliant and cross-browser compatible XHTML and CSS, as well as WordPress integration. With many functionalities needed throughout the design, the brilliant WordPress community contributed as always with several useful plugins.

Jared has many years experience in the field of design, and thanks to his extensive knowledge of web standards and usablity, the coding of the site was a breeze.

Known throughout the world for his vital contributions to the paper and pulp industry, Ingemar Croon decided in 2005 to write a book to give a detailed account of his life and career. Published in 2007, the book (which roughly translates to “Development, Innovation, Transformation”) had a small and mundane piece of online real estate which was in desperate need of a redesign. By means of a beige colour scheme and clear navigation, the book now has an online home to be proud of.

Viktor Rydberg Gymnasium is widely regarded as Sweden’s best high school. Their school council were in need of a web prescence to match their reputation.

In 2009 the student council of the Djursholm branch of VRG came to me with the ambition of launching a professional and inspiring website. Likeminded organisations throughout the country have little in the way of clean and usable websites, so president Douglas von Euler was determined take advantage and create the nation’s top student council website.

The result is a structured and strict grid-based layout, with a blue colour scheme that reinforces the organisation’s values of trust, democracy and influence. A simple yet effective form on every page gives students the chance to send in questions and propositions, making ever important involvement and interaction as simple as possible.
