In the autumn of 2009 the Economic and Trade Office of the Spanish Embassy in Sweden approached me regarding a redesign of their website on Spanish wine.
The main problem with the old site was that it didn’t compliment the wealth of great content available. Moreover, the design felt outdated and cluttered, and didn’t give the impression of an organisation aware of the rapid pace of the wine industry and the internet.
I built the design around two main (and quite obvious) sources of inspiration: Spain and wine. The colours of Spain’s national flag run throughout the website, and the classy, mysterious and seducing nature of wine give a professional and soothing feel to the design.
